My best artwork this semester was my last green bowl that I had made. It was the best because I didn't have to make it so it didn't look terrible. I would like to redo my personality bowl because It didn't turn out how I wanted it to and I didnt have enough time. Getting things done right away and even if something doesn't work right away keep trying. I wish we could have made a very big artwork because that would have been cool.

My artwork is a blue bowl with words scrapped in the bowl in white. To create my work I started with some clay and shape it into a bowl using a mold. Then I smoothed it all out and let it dry. After it got fired I then coated it in under glaze and used a new technique called sgraffito to carve in the words. Then it got fired for the last time. The big idea behind my artwork was to represent me. I did that by writing words in the side of the bowl that describes my personality and who I am. I also covered the bowl in my favorite color, blue. My goal was to make a good artwork that represented who I am and also helped be become a better artist by trying new things. Overall the artwork didn't turn out the best because I had a lot of problems with cracking, breaking, and not glazing it enough. But It made me a better artist because I was using new techniques and I kept working and not giving up. If I did it again I would make sure to be more careful smoothing it out and I would make sure I put enough glaze on it.
I am using two studio habits of mind persist and develop craft. I am engaging and persisting because my first bowl broke so now I have to make another. I am also developing craft because I am learning how to use new clay tools. This is going to show my identity in the way I glaze and decorate this bowl. My plans have changed a little because I cant use sharpie so I will have to find another way. I like how smooth it is right now and also how thin it is. I am going to still work on it and get the final details right.I am going to make a ceramic bowl using clay. Then I am going to show my identity by writing words that describe my personality on it with sharpie and then cover it in clear glaze. I am developing craft because I am practicing using clay. And express because I am expressing my identity. My artwork is a blue figure holding and admiring a hamburger. To create my artwork I first made a base out of wire and stabbed it into a foam block. After that I covered it in tinfoil. Then I went over with paper and modge podge. After that I painted it blue and painted the hamburger which was made out of a tinfoil ball. My big idea behind it is to put emphasis on the hamburger to express the figures love for hamburgers with his big belly. My goal was to make a standing figure that looked good. Overall I thought this was very good and one of my best artworks and I am very proud of it.
I started off by molding the clay into the shape of a bowl while using a bowl template. Then I went and smoothed everything out and shaped it the way I wanted it. This was actually pretty easy the hardest part was in the beginning because I did not start with enough clay. But overall I think this is the coolest thing I have ever made. The glaze I used was called Pink-a-boo. The two studio habits of mind I used were develop craft and envision. I developed craft because I had to use new tools to make this bowl. I also envisioned how I wanted it to look in the end.
I am making a person with a big belly holding a hamburger. I made it with wire in a foam block and wrapped it with tin foil. The studio habits I used were express because I am expressing my feelings with my love of hamburgers, and develop craft because I am using new tools. I am trying to express that hamburgers are amazing.
My artwork is a triangular prism on a flat base with a piece coming out at a 45 degree angle with another piece going off of that at a 90 degree and another piece being perpendicular making a corner. I made my artwork with scissors cardboard glue and tape. The big idea was to make something that looks like it shouldn't be standing. My goals were to make a cool looking artwork with little resources. While also using the principles unity and variety. I used unity to show all the pieces working together to stand up. I also used variety by having different pieces going into different directions. With also using Overall I thought I did very good in this artwork but if I did it again next time I would make sure you couldn't see the tape.
This is the materials I am going to use for my non-representational artwork. The picture on the right is my inspiration for this artwork. I am going to be focusing on variety and unity. The two studio habits of mind I am going to be using are envision and develop craft. I am using envision because I have to think of what I want my artwork to look like at the end. I am also using develop craft because I am going to have to figure out how to attach the cardboard pieces and put it all together. Our artwork is a two story house with a door and two windows on the back. We created our artwork out of small popsicle sticks and hot glue. The big idea was to make a modern popsicle stick house inspired by Charles Stinson. Our goal was to build a three story house with a patio in the front. We were not able to do that because we went online and only got three days to work on it in school. Overall I think we had a very good idea for our house, but the end product didn't come out the way we wanted it to.
